Bowtypes

There are 3 types of bows:

First we take a look at the type of longbows

In most cases a longbow considers of expensive and useable woods.

This type of bows is, other than the two other types, very straight, what is near to the beginnings of bows. In most cases the bow consider of on piece, as you can see on the picture, what means that you have a long wood in your hand you could not take in three parts like other bows. Because of this fact it i soften possible that the bow could be up  to 6,56 feed high. The most specific thing of a longbow is the way of shooting. You don’t use a sight while shooting what means that you shoot instinctive.

If you finished shooting you should expand the bow.

Langbogen

Recurvebogen

Compoundbogen

The Recurvebow is the development of the longbow. Today it is the most used type. Most of the people shooting a bow shoot a recurvebow.

The most specially thing about a recurvebow is that the arms are bended at the end. In this bending you got the most power while stressing a bow. Also this fact gives this type of bows the name „Recurvebows“. Because of this way of saving power a recurvebow has the possibility to give even this power to the arrow. So the consequence is that you have faster arrows with same drawing power considering to a longbow.

As I mentioned in my information about longbows a recurvebow mostly consider of three parts which you can take-down. So you shouldn’t have any transport problems with this type of bows.

The fact that you can take down this bow gives you the possibility to change broken things or to change against new and greater or stronger ones. So to speak the bow could rise with you.

If you finished shooting you should expand the bow.

The third type of bow is the group of compound bows. It is the most technical one.

The special thing about this type of bow is that the string goes over to rolls. So the effect is that at one point the string gets into the so called Let-Off zone. What means that you just hold a part of the power of your bow. Mostly you just have 40% of the power in you hand but it goes up to 80% Let-Off so you just have to hold 20% of the power. The consequence is that you have more powerful bows. They often go up to 70lbs. To give an example, if you shoot a 70 lbs. Bow with a Let-Off of 80% you just are going to hold 14 lbs. in your hands. What does not mean that there are just 14lbs. coming to the arrow. The full 70 lbs. are getting to the arrow. That makes 300 feed per hour.

You could shoot very exact with a compound bow, because of the strong power on the one hand and because of the Let-Off on the other hand, allows you to take aim your target without any drawing effects. This makes the compound bow to a perfect hunting bow and is used for it very often.
